Episode 66 – András Baneth

Welcome to the podcast!

In this episode  we interviewed  András Baneth founder of speakerhub.com.

András believes in the power of live presentations and personal connections, which is why he created SpeakerHub together with others. They are not a speaker agency but the fastest-growing community of professional, independent, or amateur public speakers and trainers who’d like to be found by companies, event organizers and schools. They welcome anyone with expertise in any field who is open to speaking at conferences, events or schools as a paid or pro bono presenter.

We talked with him about how Toastmasters could benefit from speakerhub. What are advantages or disadvantages. Stay tuned.

Happy Toastmastering..

Look for the next episode, in the coming weeks.

Episode 64: Pat Johnson Talks Toastmasters Education

Pat Johnson at Toastmasters International

Welcome to the podcast!

In this episode  we interviewed Toastmasters International Past President Pat Johnson and we discussed Pathways Learning Experience (formerly known as R.E.P. or the Revitalized Education Program. We recorded the interview at Blab.  We did run into a few technical challenges along the way, so the quality the recording does have a few problems here and there. We’d like to thank D95 Chief Ambassador-  Ellen Hermes and D59 Chief Ambassador- Celeste Brown, who stepped in while Pat was trying to join us on camera. Thank you to Lorraine Taylor for moderating this interview, when I ran into problems with my network connection. Thank you to Sevetlana Rakhimova who did a lot of work behind the scenes (especially helping us to run the chat).  Thank you to Pat Johnson for joining us in the session, enduring  some trials and tribulations along the way, and for being so flexible. Thank you to everyone who joined us live at Blab. As mentioned earlier I had some network problems during the interview, so that is why my role wasn’t so active during the interview. Pat Johnson and our other guests shared a lot of valuable  information and experiences with us.  We hope that you enjoy the session.

We hope that you’ve had a chance to watch the interview that we did with Victoria Ferrer, Region 11 Advisor (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). and please spread the word. We have several more episodes in the pipeline.  If you have an idea for episode, you know someone that you think is doing  or has done interesting or amazing things, we’d like to talk to them. please add a comment or contact us. We’ve enjoyed out Blab sessions so far and will be looking at doing some more of this and who knows what else we’ll try. Stay tuned.  Happy Toastmastering.

Look for the next episode, in the coming weeks.

Interview with Dirk Loeffelbein from Krakow

For all of the Toastmasters that were at the District 59 2014 Spring Conference in Krakow,  Poland you will no doubt remember the Gala Dinner and the surprised engagement proposal that Dirk Löffelbein made to Maija Kadlecova and that she said “yes” (eventually), it was an engagement proposal that none of us will ever soon forget! I had the opportunity to interview Dirk the next morning. He tells us about his feelings about the birth of D95 and the proposal.

It was nice to have a room in Krakow where I could do interviews (which I’ll continue to publish in the coming weeks). Unfortunately, I don’t believe that the room made the best backdrop for a video interview and a road race just so happened to occur while I was interviewing Dirk, but I hope that you can tune this out and enjoy the interview.  I encourage you to also check out the other videos at the District 95 YouTube Channel.

Bye for now,

Darryl

His own website is www.Lars-Sudmann.com

When I was founding new Toastmasters clubs in Flanders, Belgium, Lars’ contribution was substantial.
In each new club he would come over several times – all the way from Brussels – to favour us with his
Educationals on
How To

  • invent worthwhile Table Topics on the spot
  • valuable Evaluations to help fellow Toastmasters along
  • structural Organisation of your speech
  • the necessary Humor in speeches
  • use and not mis-use of PowerPoint (We all use his T-T-T!)
  • etc.etc.

Living in the U.K. now, I hope to see him on these isles as well. After all, interaction between the Districts
of Europe was always essential and will become even more so after the realignment into four Districts.

Enjoy!

Introducing French Toastmasters Club “Rosemasters”

After our few Easter words in here and on Facebook about the realignment and the importance of ‘’letting it be’’ in order to get on with the real purpose of Toastmasters, we enjoyed a lot of reactions.

One came from Toulouse, France: Dominique Carrasco. He sent us this excellent tape in French language, introducing Toastmasters in general and his bi-lingual English-French club “Rosemasters” in particular.
